Dominion: Seaside in stock now!

A nice surprise from Rio Grande!  The long awaited 2nd expansion to Dominion (the best new game to come out in the last few years) has finally hit store shelves!  While the cards in Intrigue tended to give you multiple choices on each card, Seaside cards gives you their power twice.  These cards are called Duration – they basically stay in the play area until your next turn, giving you coins or extra cards both now and again on your next turn.  The other cards give you sea based options, like attacking with a pirate ship to steal your opponents treasure cards or the sea hag to put curses on top of your opponent’s decks.  Seaside can, of course, be combined with all previous Dominion sets in whatever combination you’d like for billions of different game setups.  It is an expansion, not a base game, so if you haven’t had the pleasure of playing Dominion yet, now would be a good time to pick them up together.

If you haven’t tried Dominion yet, here’s the basic idea.  The game plays 2-4 players (2-8 with Intrigue) and a four player game can be finished in less than 20 minutes.  Each player starts with a deck containing both treasure cards and victory cards.  At the end of the game, the player with the most points in their deck wins.  You can use your treasure cards to buy new cards that will get shuffled into your deck.  The cards you buy will be either greater treasure cards, victory cards with points on them or action cards that allow you to do a wide variety of things – anything from attacking other players to gaining cards without paying for them to generating new cards / coins for this turn’s use.  The game is absolutely amazing, and if you stop by the store I’d be glad to give you a brief demo.

And as with all of our games, we cut the MSRP back by 10%.  So not only can you get one of the hottest games on the market, but you can get it on the cheap.  So what are you waiting for?  Come on down to Canton Games and pick up Dominion:  Seaside today!
